September 4, 2026: Violent Sexual Predators Convicted of Sexually Exploiting Women in Long Beach and Antelope Valley

LOS ANGELES — Calvin Lane was out of custody on reduced bail when he absconded before closing arguments last week at his trial for sex trafficking a young woman and a teenage girl in Los Angeles and Long Beach. Dijon O'Neal, a convicted violent sex offender, was on parole when he sexually assaulted three more women at knifepoint. Both sexual predators were convicted in August 2026 of multiple felonies.

September 4, 2026: Hacienda Heights Woman Charged with Felony Wage Theft, Tax Fraud at Diamond Bar Care Facility

LOS ANGELES — A 59-year-old Hacienda Heights woman has been charged with six felony counts for allegedly stealing more than $121,000 in wages from employees at an unlicensed residential care facility in Diamond Bar and failing to pay required employment taxes.

LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles County judge today found a 38-year-old man factually innocent of a 2013 drive-by shooting that seriously injured two brothers. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office’s Justice Conviction Review Unit and the California Western Innocence & Justice Clinic cited new evidence that came to light after sentencing and pointed to another individual who allegedly committed the crime.

LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles County jury today found that Kevin Eduardo Cataneo Salazar, 32, was legally sane when he killed Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Ryan Clinkunbroomer in September 2023, rejecting Salazar’s not guilty by reason of insanity defense.
