January 31, 2025: DA Hochman Announces Father, Fiancée Charged in Death of Four-Year-Old Child in Antelope Valley

ANTELOPE VALLEY, CA – Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman announced today that Lacie Fetters, 25, has been charged with murdering her fiancé Andrew Havrella’s 4-year-old son in the Antelope Valley on December 3, 2024.

January 31, 2025: DA Hochman Attends Fundraiser for LA County DA Foundation Raising Over $50,000 for LADA Families, First Responders Affected by LA Wildfires

ARCADIA, CA – On January 11, District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman attended a fundraising event for the LA County DA Foundation that raised over $50,000 to benefit 17 LADA families who lost their homes or sustained significant financial hardship during the tragic Los Angeles wildfires. Proceeds were also raised to benefit first responders who have tirelessly worked to protect the community during this time.

January 29, 2025: Man Charged with Forcible Rape, Sodomy of 15-Year-Old Victim in the Leimert Park/Crenshaw Neighborhood of Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman announced today that Derrick Dwayne Thompson, 57, is charged with forcibly raping a 15-year-0ld girl on November 30, 2024, in the Crenshaw/Leimert Park neighborhood of the City of Los Angeles.

January 27, 2025: DA Hochman Announces Charges Against Man in Attempted Murder of Five Adults in Mass Shooting Near MacArthur Park

LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman announced today that Jose Daniel Amaya, 27, is charged with five counts of attempted murder, including five gun sentencing enhancements, in the shooting of four men and one woman near MacArthur Park on January 22 in the Westlake neighborhood of Los Angeles.

January 24, 2025: District Attorney Hochman Announces Additional Charges in Wildfire-Related Crimes, Bringing Total to 25 Individuals Charged

LOS ANGELES — District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman announced today that two more individuals have been charged in connection with the ongoing wildfires — bringing the total number of individuals charged in fire-related cases to 25. These latest cases include felony charges of first-degree residential burglary and attempt to burn in Santa Monica and Brentwood.

January 24, 2025: UPDATE: DA Hochman Announces Decision in Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault Allegations Against Brian Warner, a.k.a. Marilyn Manson

LOS ANGELES – Nathan J. Hochman announced today that experienced prosecutors from the Sex Crimes Division of the District Attorney’s Office, along with detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, completed a comprehensive four-year investigation into allegations of domestic violence and sexual assault made against Brian Warner, aka Marilyn Manson. We have determined that allegations of domestic violence fall outside of the statute of limitations, and we cannot prove charges of sexual assault beyond a reasonable doubt.

January 17, 2025: New Court Date Set for Menendez Brothers Resentencing Due to Impact of LA County Wildfires

LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman announced today that the resentencing hearing for Erik and Lyle Menendez, originally scheduled for January 30-31, has been continued by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Jesic. The new date is March 20-21. The continuance is due to the impact of recent wildfires on the parties’ extensive preparations for the hearings.
