July 24, 2020: Man Charged With DUI Crash in Palmdale

A man has been charged with driving under the influence and crashing his car into a parked vehicle, injuring two people in April 2018, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced today.

Michael Anthony Keith (dob 12/23/84) was charged in case BA488767 with one count each of driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage causing injury and driving with a .08% blood alcohol content causing injury.

The case was filed for warrant on July 23. Arraignment is scheduled today in Department 30 of the Foltz Criminal Justice Center.

On April 26, 2018, the defendant, an off-duty Los Angeles police officer, was driving northbound on State Route 14 in Palmdale when he allegedly veered off the road. His car struck a parked SUV with two people inside. They were taken to a nearby hospital and treated for their injuries.

If convicted as charged, the defendant faces a possible maximum sentence of nine years in state prison.

The case remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
