July 17, 2025: Man Charged with Killing Couple in Their Encino Home
Raymond Boodarian faces life without the possibility of parole or death
LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman announced that a 22-year-old man was charged today with fatally shooting a husband and wife in their Encino home last week.
“In a matter of moments, this couple was senselessly killed in their own home as they returned from the grocery store,” District Attorney Hochman said. “This tragic shooting has shaken a valley community and the notion that home should be our safe sanctuary. Our thoughts and prayers go out to their family and friends who are grieving this tremendous loss.”
Raymond Boodarian (dob 3/16/03) was charged in case 25VWCF01126 with two counts of murder and one count of first-degree residential burglary, with the special circumstance allegation of multiple murders and murder during the commission of a burglary.
He is expected to be arraigned on August 20 in Department 100 at the Van Nuys Courthouse.
On or about July 10, at about 4 p.m., Boodarian allegedly entered a home belonging to Robin Kaye, 70, and Thomas Deluca, also 70, on the 4700 block of White Oak Avenue. When the couple arrived at home, Boodarian allegedly shot them multiple times, then fled the area.
The victims were found several days later during a welfare check.
If convicted as charged, Boodarian faces a possible maximum sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole or death.
The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department and is being prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Hilary Williams of the Major Crimes Division.
The charges filed in this case are allegations. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
