December 17, 2019: Woman Charged with Hit-and-Run Crash With Cyclist

A 52-year-old woman is scheduled to be in court today to face charges of running into a cyclist in Silver Lake and then fleeing the scene, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Molly Jane Hoene (dob 9/9/67) faces one felony count each of hit-and-run driving resulting in serious injury to another person and hit-and-run driving resulting in injury to another person.

Arraignment is scheduled today in Department 30 of the Foltz Criminal Justice Center. Case BA482668 was filed for warrant on Nov. 19.

On October 25, Hoene, a teacher, was allegedly driving near Berkeley Avenue and Berkeley Circle when she ran head-on into a 52-year-old man riding his bicycle, prosecutors said. The defendant is charged with fleeing the scene without providing any assistance.

If convicted as charged, Hoene faces a possible maximum sentence of four years in state prison.

The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department, Central Traffic.
