LOS ANGELES — District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman announced today that his office has filed an attempted murder charge against a juvenile in connection with a Feb. 7 stabbing of another teen at a protest in downtown Los Angeles.

“Violence has no place in our public spaces.”  DA Hochman said. “We understand that people have the right to express their views, but this right must be exercised with respect for others’ safety and well-being. Our support is with the victim and their family as they navigate this difficult time and begin the recovery process.”

The juvenile faces one felony count of attempted murder. He denied the charges during his arraignment on Feb. 18 in the Juvenile Court. The next hearing is scheduled for March 7, 2025.

The case is being prosecuted by the Juvenile Division and was investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department.
