October 28, 2024: DA Gascón Announces Man Charged with Attempted Murder in Attack on West Hollywood Restaurant Valet, Others

WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA - Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón announced today that Dorian Michael Gray is charged with attempting to murder Efrain Zarazua, a West Hollywood Barney’s Beanery valet attendant, during a physical assault as he was working outside of the restaurant on September 14. Gray also allegedly physically assaulted six other victims that same day in the West Hollywood area.

October 25, 2024: DA Gascón Announces Charges Against Man in Sexual Assault, Attempted Kidnapping of 11-Year-Old Girl in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, CA - Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón announced today that Jose Julian Jaime Jr. is charged with sexually assaulting and attempting to kidnap an 11-year-old girl on October 21 as she was walking home from school in the city of Wilmington.

October 24, 2024: District Attorney Gascón Announces Decision in Resentencing of Erik and Lyle Menendez

LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón today announced his decision to recommend the resentencing of Erik Menendez, 53, and Lyle Menendez, 56, after being in custody for approximately 35 years for the murders of their father and mother, Jose and Kitty Menendez in August 1989.

LOS ANGELES - Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón, in partnership with the LA County Public Defender’s Office, Probation Department, Superior Court and Los Angeles Mission College, has announced the launch of the College and Career Pathway Program (CCPP). This initiative offers an alternative for 16- to 18-year-olds accused of a crime, allowing them to pursue education and career opportunities instead of facing a criminal record.

October 23, 2024: Continuation Announced in Exoneration Case for Wrongly Convicted Man and Woman

LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón announced today that a hearing on the exoneration and release of Charlotte Pleytez and Lombardo Palacios is set to take place Nov. 1. Each has spent more than 17 years in prison for an East Hollywood murder in 2007 that LADA’s Conviction Integrity Unit determined they did not commit.

October 23, 2024: Man Sentenced to Life in Prison Without the Possibility of Parole for 1988 Kidnap, Rape, Murder of Lois Haro

LOS ANGELES - Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón announced today that Ronald Anthony Jones has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the shooting death of 26-year-old Lois Haro, who was raped and killed after being kidnapped in 1988 by Jones and his accomplice. The sentence, based on the jury’s verdict in case A578017, was reached Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court Department 109.

October 22, 2024: James Louis Boyd III Sentenced to 50 Years to Life in Prison for Assault on Two Hawthorne Police Officers

TORRANCE, CA – Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón today announced that James Louis Boyd III was sentenced by Judge Hector Guzman to 50 years to life plus nine years and four months in prison for violently assaulting two Hawthorne police officers who were responding to a domestic dispute call in April 2019.

October 18, 2024: Three Men Charged in Violent West LA Follow-Home Robbery; One Victim Critically Wounded

LOS ANGELES COUNTY - Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón announced today that Michael DiGiorgio is charged with allegedly drugging and sexually assaulting 9 women at his Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach homes between 2019 and 2021. One of the women died by the alleged drugging.
