July 3, 2025: Tutor and Young Adult Ward Charged in Plot to Smuggle Xanax into Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall

DOWNEY, CA — A civilian contract tutor for incarcerated youth has been charged with multiple felonies for allegedly working with a young adult ward to smuggle a controlled substance into Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall in Downey. The ward has also been charged with a felony in connection with the case.

June 23, 2025: Monica Sementilli Sentenced to Life in Prison for Husband’s Murder

LOS ANGELES — Monica Sementilli was sentenced today to life in prison without the possibility of parole for orchestrating the 2017 murder of her husband, renowned hairdresser Fabio Sementilli. The sentencing took place in Department 101 of the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center.

LANCASTER, CA – A Los Angeles County Superior Court judge today resentenced Tommy Lee Wickerd to 25 years in prison, having previously granted a petition for resentencing based on an exceptional conduct recommendation from the Secretary of California's Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), on Wickerd’s behalf.
