September 25, 2018: Store Owner Charged with Sexually Assaulting Minors

The owner of a dollar store in Sylmar is scheduled in court today for charges of sexually assaulting three boys, two of them at the store, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Deputy District Attorney Cathy Lee said Enrique Ramirez (dob 5/4/58) of Sun Valley faces two felony counts of continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14 and one felony count of lewd act upon a child.

Arraignment is scheduled today in Department S of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, San Fernando Branch. Case PA091347 was filed on July 30.

Ramirez is accused of sexually assaulting one victim between December 2004 and May 2006, and two others between July 2017 and July 2018. The victims were two 11-year-old boys and one between the ages of 5 and 7 years old, the prosecutor said.

If convicted as charged, the defendant faces a possible maximum sentence of 45 years to life in state prison. Bail is set at $1.8 million.

The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department, Mission Division.
