A 31-year-old Orange County man was found guilty today of killing his estranged wife outside a Montebello restaurant where she worked, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Jurors spent less than a day deliberating before determining Arthur Andrew Andrade Jr. of Tustin was guilty of the first-degree murder of his wife on March 16, 2013. Andrade is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 29 and faces a maximum sentence of 50 years to life in prison.

Deputy District Attorney Pallavi Dhawan of the Family Violence Division said Andrade went to the Montebello restaurant where the victim worked and fatally shot her as she sat in her car.

Andrade fled the scene but later surrendered to Whittier police.

The case was investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau.
