LANCASTER, CA – Se ha procesado una querella para extradición y arresto por asesinato en contra de un hombre de 36 años que presuntamente huyó a Perú después de matar a su esposa la semana pasada, anunció hoy la Fiscalía de Distrito del Condado de Los Ángeles.

The California Board of Parole Hearings conducted proceedings by video conference in Sacramento today, with Erik Menendez appearing from the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego. Tomorrow, Lyle Menendez will go before the Board. Assistant Head Deputy District Attorney Habib Balian presented our office’s arguments remotely from the Hall of Justice in Los Angeles.

The Menendez brothers have never fully accepted responsibility for the horrific murders of their parents, instead continuing to promote a false narrative of self-defense that was rejected by the jury decades ago. We have consistently opposed their release because they have not demonstrated full insight into their crimes or shown that they have been fully rehabilitated, and therefore continue to pose a risk to society. We will evaluate our final position based on the evidence presented at the hearing.  

LOS ANGELES — District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman commends the outstanding work of the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the Los Angeles Police Department, and other federal and state law enforcement agencies in securing a federal 31-count indictment against six members and associates of the South Los Angeles-based Hoover Criminal Gang. The defendants were charged with racketeering conspiracy, including sex trafficking of children and adults through force, fraud, or coercion on the Figueroa Corridor of Los Angeles.
