A man was sentenced today to 24 years in state prison for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl over a three-week period when he kept her in his home, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Last month, Samuel Duran, 36, pleaded no contest to three counts of forcible oral copulation with a victim over 14 years old. He was sentenced today and also was ordered to register as a lifetime sex offender.

Deputy District Attorney Brian Soo-Hoo of the Sex Crimes Division prosecuted the case.

The victim left her Mar Vista home on March 24, 2015. Over the course of the next three weeks, Duran sexually abused the teenage girl. She was later found by authorities after she made a phone call that was traced to Duran’s home.

Case SA090204 was investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department.
