A Mission Hills woman pleaded no contest today to stealing from two elderly victims she lived with at different times, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Deputy District Attorney Ani Bailey said Patricia Rodríguez (dob 4/26/56) entered her plea to grand theft of personal property, forgery and first degree residential burglary.

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Michael O’Gara of the San Fernando Branch sentenced Rodríguez to four years in state prison. A restitution hearing setting is scheduled on July 24 in Department C.

In September 2013, Rodriguez burglarized the home of a 62-year-old woman she previously lived with and claimed to take care of.

Two months later, Rodríguez lived with an 80-year-old at her Mission Hills mobile home while she claimed to be her caretaker for two weeks before the woman’s death.

Rodríguez stole from the 80-year-old victim while she was alive and continued doing so after her death, forging her signature to withdraw money from the dead woman’s bank account and depositing the cash into her own account, prosecutors said.

The case was investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department, Mission Station.
