December 11, 2020: Man Pleads to 2019 Shooting at Torrance Mall

A man pleaded no contest today to shooting a 22-year-old man at the Del Amo Fashion Center in Torrance last year, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.
Jose Manuel Salazar aka “Issue” (dob 5/24/01) entered his plea to one count of attempted murder and was immediately sentenced to nine years in state prison.
Deputy District Attorney Lee Orquiola of the Hardcore Gang Division prosecuted the case.
On June 3, 2019, Salazar shot the victim while inside the mall, prosecutors said. The mall was evacuated as a result.
Case YA100442 was investigated by the Torrance Police Department.
