Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón announced today that a former USC football player has been charged with raping two women from the University of Southern California and University of California, Los Angeles.

“Sexual assault is a heinous crime that cannot be tolerated,” District Attorney Gascón said. “These brave women made the difficult decision to come forward and report their assault, now it’s our turn to ensure that justice is done. We will do everything we can to hold the person responsible accountable for his actions.”

Joshua Fred James Jackson Jr., (dob 7/9/01) was arrested today and charged in case BA515602 with one felony count of forcible sexual penetration and three felony counts of forcible rape.

He is expected to be arraigned this week in Department 30 of the Foltz Criminal Justice Center. The case was filed for warrant on June 6.

In March 2023, Jackson Jr., allegedly raped a classmate at her USC apartment.

Jackson Jr. also is accused of raping a UCLA student sometime between June 1 and September 1, 2020 at his apartment.

The case is being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department. Anyone who may be a victim of Jackson Jr. is encouraged to come forward to report their experience to law enforcement at (323) 290-2976 or 1-877-LAPD-24-7.
