October 9, 2024: Lamps Plus Settles Consumer Protection Lawsuit for $4.1 Million

LOS ANGELES - Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón announced today that Lamps Plus, Inc. and its affiliates will pay $4.1 million to settle a civil lawsuit that alleged the California corporation engaged in false advertising and unfair competition.

October 9, 2024: Man Found Guilty in Death and Physical Assault of Seven-Week-Old Baby in South Pasadena in 2022

SOUTH PASADENA, CA - Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón today announced that Christopher Lashun Richmond was convicted by a jury on October 7 in the death of his seven-week-old baby and injuring the child’s mother. Richmond faces 26 years to life in state prison.

COMPTON, CA - Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón announced today that a man has been charged in the Oct. 4 crash that killed 35-year-old Manhattan Beach Police Officer Chad Swanson, who was riding his department motorcycle to work.

October 8, 2024: Long Beach Safety Officer Sentenced in Shooting Death of 18-Year-Old Woman Near Millikan High School

LONG BEACH, CA - Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón announced that a Long Beach Unified School safety officer, Eddie Gonzalez, was sentenced to three years in prison by Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Richard Goulafter he pleaded no contest to one count of voluntary manslaughter in the death of 18-year-old Manuela Rodriguez. Rodriguez was shot as she left an altercation near Millikan High School in September 2021.

LOS ANGELES - Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón announced today that Los Angeles Police Officer Garo Garabedian is charged with assaulting a suspect and seriously injuring him while responding to a domestic violence call in the city of Los Angeles in May 2023.

LOS ANGELES - Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón announced today that a jury has convicted Ronald Anthony Jones of murder in the shooting death of 26-year-old Lois Haro, who was raped and killed after being kidnapped by Jones and his accomplice in 1988 at the Plaza Pasadena mall.
