The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office conducts reviews of the evidence in most officer-involved shootings in the county. If an officer’s use of force is determined to be within the law, a detailed memorandum is prepared and posted below. 

As of July 1, 2021, fatal shootings of unarmed persons by police officers in the State of California are investigated by the California Department of Justice (Government Code Section 12525.3).
