May 9, 2024: District Attorney Gascón Announces Charges Against Man in Murder of His Mother in Burbank
Kyle Lombardo is charged with murder after his mother was found dead in her Burbank home on May 7
BURBANK, CA- Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón announced today that Kyle Lombardo has been charged in the murder of his mother, Karyn Lombardo, at her Burbank home on May 7.
“My deepest condolences go out to the victim’s loved ones during this tremendously difficult time,” District Attorney Gascón said. “Ms. Lombardo, a beloved teacher in the Burbank community, had her life senselessly taken. I want to assure the victim’s family and the community that our office is fully committed to seeking justice and accountability in this tragedy.”
Kyle Lombardo (dob 04/13/99) is charged in case 24BBCF00147 with one count of murder.
Lombardo is scheduled to be arraigned today in Dept. 1 of the Burbank Courthouse.
On May 7, at approximately 10 p.m., Lombardo allegedly killed his mother during an altercation in her home on the 800 block of North Avon Street in the city of Burbank.
Lombardo is being held on $2 million bail.
If convicted as charged, the maximum sentence is life in state prison.
The case is being investigated by the Burbank Police Department.
