October 15, 2020: Whittier Man Pleads No Contest to Domestic Violence Murder of Live-In Girlfriend

A man pleaded no contest today for killing his live-in girlfriend whose body was found inside his vehicle parked at their Whittier home two years ago, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Luis Rey JimenezJimenez (dob 8/25/74) pleaded no contest to one count of second-degree murder and admitted to using a wrench as a deadly and dangerous weapon.

JimenezJimenez was immediately sentenced to 16 years to life in state prison in case VA149606.

According to the criminal complaint, victim Nadia Solís, 41, was killed on or about Dec. 30, 2018. Her body was discovered by Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies conducting a welfare check on Jan. 5, 2019, prosecutors said.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department investigated the case.
