Rebecca Grossman was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison for murdering two young brothers in September 2020

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA- Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón announced today that Rebecca Grossman was sentenced to 15 years to life in state prison with the possibility of parole by Judge Joseph A. Brandolino.

“Today, the court delivered its sentence in the tragic case involving the deaths of Mark and Jacob Iskander, who lost their lives because of Ms. Grossman’s reckless actions,” District Attorney Gascón said. “While we respect the judicial process, we are deeply disappointed with the outcome of today’s sentencing. Our office recommended that Ms. Grossman be sentenced to 34 years to life in prison.

“The loss of these two innocent lives has devastated their family and our community. Ms. Grossman’s blatant disregard for human life is a stark reminder of the grave consequences of irresponsible behavior behind the wheel. Our office pursued this case with the intent to seek justice for the victims and their loved ones, advocating for a sentence that would reflect the severity of the crime. We will continue to support the victims’ family during this difficult time.”

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the grieving family of the two young, innocent victims in this horrific tragedy and we hope this justice brings them some measure of comfort,” said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Chief Allen Castellano. “This individual showed a complete disregard for the lives and safety of others in our community through her reckless actions, which ultimately shattered a family and robbed two children of their bright futures.”

Rebecca Grossman (dob 6/14/63) of Hidden Hills was convicted by a jury on February 23, 2024, in case LA093990 of one felony count of murder and vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence for the death of Mark Iskander, 11 years old; one felony count of murder and vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence for the death of Jacob Iskander, 8 years old; and one felony count of hit-and-run driving resulting in death.

Ms. Grossman was ordered by the court today to pay $47,161.89 to the victims.

The case was investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
