June 18, 2025: Man Charged With Child Pornography After Hidden Cameras Found in Hermosa Beach Dance Studio Bathroom
HERMOSA BEACH, CA – A Torrance man has been charged with felony possession of child pornography and other crimes after he allegedly planted hidden cameras inside a bathroom and changing room at a children’s dance studio in Hermosa Beach, where he worked as a front desk receptionist.
“To invade a child’s privacy in a place where they should feel completely safe is a grotesque violation of trust, safety, and basic human decency,” Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman said. “We will do everything in our power to hold this individual fully accountable. No child — or adult — should have to worry about being secretly recorded in such a private space.”
Jourdyn Godoy (dob 9/03/99) of Torrance was charged with one felony count of possession of child pornography and one count each of child annoyance and invasion of privacy, both misdemeanors. He was charged June 17 and his arraignment is scheduled for today in Department 30 of the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center.
The People have requested his bail be set at $55,000. If convicted as charged, he faces up to four years in state prison.
On May 3, a parent discovered a hidden camera in the studio’s changing room. Police subsequently found video cameras hidden in the studio’s bathroom and changing room. Police executed a search warrant at the defendant’s residence, where they recovered potential evidence and took him into custody.
Case 25CJCF03505 is being prosecuted by the Cyber Crime Division and was investigated by the Hermosa Beach Police Department.
The charges filed in this case are allegations. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
