LA County Sheriff’s Deputy Bryan Cardoso is charged with sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl at his home in June 2022 

CUDAHY, CA - Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón announced today that Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Bryan Cardoso is charged with sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl at his home in the city of Cudahy in June 2022.

“I am heartbroken and outraged by the egregious assault on an innocent 13-year-old girl by someone who was entrusted with protecting our community. This child has endured an unimaginable violation of trust,” said District Attorney Gascón. “The alleged actions of this deputy are reprehensible and unacceptable. Our office is committed to ensuring that justice is served, and that the perpetrator is held fully accountable. We will work diligently to support the victim through this process and to restore faith in our justice system.”

Bryan Cardoso (dob 10/22/93) is charged in case 24CJCF05680 with one count of lewd act upon a child under age 14.

It is further alleged that the sexual assault involved great violence, great bodily harm, threat of great bodily harm, and other acts disclosing a high degree of cruelty, viciousness, and callousness.

Cardoso is scheduled to be arraigned November 8 in Dept. 30 of the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center. He was released on a $100,000 bond on September 12.

On June 13, 2022, Cardoso allegedly sexually assaulted a 13-year-old female at his home in the city of Cudahy.

If convicted as charged, Cardoso faces a maximum sentence of eight years in state prison.

The case is being prosecuted by LADA’s Sex Crimes Division and investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Internal Criminal Investigation Bureau.
