A Long Beach man has been charged with fatally stabbing his 63-year-old wife in June, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced today.

Deputy District Attorney Maren Dermody said Henry Lee Allen (dob 2/12/46) faces one felony count of murder with an allegation of using a knife as a deadly and dangerous weapon.

An arraignment date is yet to be scheduled. Case NA115196 was filed for warrant on September 1.

The criminal complaint says Debbie Allen was killed on or between June 13 and June 17. Police doing a welfare check discovered her body on June 17, the prosecutor said.

Allen was found later that day in Barstow, the prosecutor added.

If convicted as charged, the defendant faces a possible maximum sentence of life in state prison. Bail is scheduled at more than $1 million.

The case remains under investigation by the Long Beach Police Department.
