December 20, 2024: DA Hochman Announces Child Sex Abuse Charges Against Piano Teacher in Los Angeles County

LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman announced today that 41-year-old Beverly Hills music teacher Hovanes John Jihanyan is charged with sexually abusing his 13-year-old piano student between August 1 and November 9, 2024. The victim turned 14 during the time of the alleged abuse.

December 16, 2024: DA Hochman Announces Additional Charges in Murder of Woodland Hills Dr. Hamid Mirshojae

WOODLAND HILLS, CA – Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman announced today that Ahang Mirshojae, aka Ahang Kelk, is charged in the murder of her former husband, Woodland Hills Dr. Hamid Mirshojae, who was shot and killed outside of his medical clinic on August 23.

WOODLAND HILLS, CA – Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman announced today that Evan Hardman, Sarallah Jawed and Ashley Rose Sweeting are charged in the death of Dr. Hamid Mirshojae outside of his Woodland Hills medical clinic on August 23.

December 13, 2024: DA Hochman Announces LA County Teacher and Arcadia Youth Soccer Coach Charged with Child Pornography

LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman announced today that Justin Yasutake, a teacher and girls’ soccer coach, has been charged with possessing videos and images of child sexual abuse material (CSAM), including images of a minor under 12 years old. Yasutake worked as a youth soccer coach in the city of Arcadia and other school settings in LA County.

December 3, 2024: Nathan Hochman Sworn In As New LA County District Attorney

LOS ANGELES – Nathan Hochman, a former federal prosecutor and Assistant U.S. Attorney General, was sworn in today as the 44th District Attorney of Los Angeles County. Hundreds of elected leaders, law enforcement officials, prosecutors, first responders and supporters watched outside the Hall of Justice as Mr. Hochman was sworn in by former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
