LOS ANGELES – A 21-year-old Los Angeles woman accused of the hit-and-run death of a motorcyclist pleaded today before a Los Angeles Superior Court Judge.

Deputy District Attorney Mario Haidar said Jessica Alejandra Aba pleaded guilty to one felony count of leaving the scene of an accident and one misdemeanor count of vehicular manslaughter. The defendant pleaded open to the court, meaning it was not part of a negotiated plea agreement.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Craig Richman ordered Aba to return for sentencing on Nov. 24 in Department 35 of the Foltz Criminal Justice Center.

Aba collided with motorcyclist Federico Porras on Aug. 3 at Marianna Avenue and Valley Boulevard in Los Angeles. The victim was pronounced dead at the hospital. Officers of the Los Angeles Police Department arrested Aba on Sept. 28 after receiving a tip.
