POMONA – A second man charged with the 2001 slaying of a
Cal Poly Pomona student was sentenced today in Pomona Superior
Court.
Henry Arnold Singer, who pleaded guilty to first-degree murder
for the killing of Christina Burmeister, was sentenced to 25 years
to life by Judge George Genesta.
Last week, a jury recommended death for James Winslow Dixon, Jr.,
who was convicted of first-degree murder with special circumstances
of kidnapping and robbery in connection with the college student’s
murder and the rape of two women dating back to 1996.
Markeisha Cummings, Dixon’s wife, also pleaded guilty to
first-degree murder and was sentenced to 25 years to life in 2007.
Burmeister was on her way to a fraternity party the night of her
disappearance. She was found in her truck the next day with her
throat cut.
