LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles County District Attorney Steve Cooley will unveil a new dogfighting reward program in partnership with the Humane Society of the United States March 27, 2008 at 11 a.m.

The announcement will be made in the District Attorney’s Conference Room on the 18th Floor of the Criminal Justice Center, 210 West Temple Street, Los Angeles, 90012. The initiative offers up to $5,000 for members of the public who report dogfighting. A pit bull confiscated from a dog-fighting ring will be on site.

Featured guests include Eric Sakach, West Coast Regional Office director for the Humane Society of the United States, and leadership from the Los Angeles City Department of Animal Services, the Los Angeles City Animal Cruelty Task Force and 2-1-1, the county’s 24-hour information line.
