April 3, 2020: Youth Baseball Coach Charged with Lewd Acts with Children

A Rowland Heights man who coached youth baseball has been charged with molesting three boys, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced today.

Deputy District Attorney Leslie Bouvier said Carlton Murray Harris Jr. (dob 4/30/72) faces one count each of lewd act upon a child under age 14 and continuous sexual abuse as well as five counts of lewd act upon a child age 14 or 15.

Case KA124408 was filed yesterday and arraignment is scheduled on April 15 in Department F of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Pomona Branch.

The crimes are alleged to have happened between 2014 and 2017 at the defendant’s home and the victims ranged in age from 11 to 15 years old, the prosecutor said.

Bail is set at $530,000. If convicted as charged, Harris faces a possible maximum sentence of more than 27 years in state prison.

The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
