A Los Angeles County Superior Court judge today imposed the maximum sentence on a 54-year-old Santa Clarita man who admitted that he was driving under the influence when he drove the wrong way during rush hour traffic and crashed into several cars.

Judge Michael O’Gara sentenced Rick Allen Walker to seven years in state prison. Walker pleaded no contest on Aug. 19 to four counts of D.U.I. causing injury.

On June 17, 2013, Walker drove the wrong way on the northbound Highway 14 when he crashed into several vehicles. Four people were seriously injured in the collisions, prosecutors said.

Deputy District Attorney Ani Bailey of the San Fernando Branch Office prosecuted the case. The case was investigated by the California Highway Patrol.
