A woman was sentenced today to 12 years in state prison for hitting and killing a woman with her limousine in Skid Row, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Nancy Lekon, 47, pleaded no contest to voluntary manslaughter and was immediately sentenced by Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Monica Bachner.

Deputy District Attorney Ian Phan said Lekon and 25-year-old Sonia Tauanuu were involved in an argument on Dec. 3, 2009. Lekon then got into her Cadillac limousine she had recently purchased and struck and killed Tauanuu.

The case was investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department, Newton Division.
