January 15, 2019: Woman Charged with Murder of 75-Year-Old Victim
A woman has been charged with killing a 75-year-old woman at her Pasadena home, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced today.
Mary Jean O’Connor (dob 10/28/77), a transient in the North Hollywood area, faces one count of murder.
Arraignment is scheduled today in Department D of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Pasadena Branch. Case GA104900 was filed on Dec. 28.
Victim Jeri Douglas was discovered strangled to death by police performing a welfare check on Dec. 17, prosecutors said.
If convicted as charged, O’Connor faces a possible maximum sentence of 25 years to life in state prison. Bail is set at $2 million.
Deputy District Attorney Ryan Erlich is the assigned prosecutor.
The case remains under investigation by the Pasadena Police Department.
