A 21-year-old Fontana woman was charged today with numerous counts of murder after several people were killed in a car crash, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Olivia Carolee Culbreath (dob 11/03/1992) is charged in case KA104665 with six counts of murder. The defendant, who was scheduled to appear in court today for arraignment, remains hospitalized. At this time, it is unknown when she will be able to attend her court appearance.

Prosecutors say on Feb. 9, at about 4:44 a.m., Culbreath reportedly was driving her Camaro the wrong way on the 60 Freeway in Diamond Bar. She allegedly was going eastbound in the westbound lanes, prosecutors say, when she collided head-on with a Ford Explorer.

All four occupants in the Ford Explorer were killed and two passengers in the Camaro also died.

The defendant’s bail has been set at $6 million. She is currently in the hospital jail ward at Los Angeles County USC Medical Center.

If convicted as charged, Culbreath faces a maximum sentence of life in state prison.

The case is being investigated by the California Highway Patrol.
