A 32-year-old chiropractor convicted of inappropriately touching patients at his Whittier home and office was sentenced Friday to 120 days in county jail, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

On Oct. 8, Steven Patrick Lowry pleaded no contest to three counts of misdemeanor sexual battery involving three female victims in case 5BF02804.

At Friday’s court appearance, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Lillian V. Jacobs also sentenced the defendant to three years summary probation.

Lowry must also attend one year of sexual compulsion classes as well as register as a lifetime sex offender.

Prosecutors said Lowry was a licensed chiropractor with an office located in Whittier.

The defendant would treat patients at the office and then propose private massages at his home, prosecutors said.

Between November 2014 and March 2015, the patients were improperly touched by Lowry at his home and office, according to prosecutors.

Authorities were notified about the unwarranted touching and began an investigation, prosecutors said.

On March 23, Lowry subsequently was charged in connection with the crimes.

The case was investigated by the Whittier Police Department.
