A West Covina man who pleaded no contest late yesterday to child sex abuse charges was sentenced to 24 years in state prison, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

The defendant, Daniel Meza, 60, gave his plea before Judge Douglas Sortino on one count of continual sexual abuse and two counts of lewd act upon a child.

He was accused of molesting three female family members over a period of nine years.

Meza was arrested March 27, 2013, and charged several days later. He remained in custody on $700,000 bail and entered his plea before the case went to trial.

The case was investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
