May 7, 2025: Prison Sentence for Man Who Pleaded No Contest to Animal Cruelty

LONG BEACH, CA — Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman announced today that Alexander Cueva pleaded no contest to felony animal cruelty and was sentenced to three years in state prison and a 10-year ban on possessing animals. The defendant also admitted to a weapon allegation as part of the plea.

INGLEWOOD, CA — Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman announced murder and attempted murder charges today against a 40-year-old campus security guard for shooting and killing a college dean and injuring another employee at Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology in Inglewood on May 2.

May 2, 2025: District Attorney Hochman Files Opposition to Menendez Recusal Motion

VAN NUYS, CA — Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman announced today that the District Attorney’s Office has filed its opposition to the recusal motion filed by Lyle and Erik Menendez seeking to recuse the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office from the case.  Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Michael Jesic has scheduled a hearing on May 9 to consider this motion.

LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman announced charges today against an 18-year-old man for attempting to rob then sexually assaulting a woman at knifepoint on a Los Angeles Metro bus traveling between East Hollywood and Southwest Los Angeles.
