A 65-year-old man was sentenced today to 35 years in state prison for sexually abusing three different children over a span of 15 years, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

On Sept. 14, Raymond Mario Juarez Jr. of Valinda pleaded guilty to five felony counts in case KA111837: four counts of forcible lewd act upon a child and one count of lewd act upon a child.

In addition to the prison sentence, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Bruce Marrs ordered the defendant to register as a lifetime sex offender. Also, Juarez will not be eligible for parole until he is 93 years old.

Deputy District Attorney Babette Huley of the Victim Impact Program, who prosecuted the case, said in January 2016 an underage girl revealed to her mother that Juarez had sexually molested her when she was four years old. The victim’s mother then reported the abuse to law enforcement, the prosecutor added.

Authorities began an investigation into the sexual abuse claims and through additional interviews learned that Juarez had committed child rape on two other underage girls who were six and eight years old at the time of the crimes, according to the prosecutor.

Juarez was arrested on Feb. 15 and has remained in custody since his apprehension.

The case was investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Victim’s Bureau.
