A 37-year-old man pleaded guilty today to sexually abusing female high school students in 2011 and 2014, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

At today’s court appearance, David Park pleaded guilty to two counts in case KA109090: oral copulation of a person under 16 and lewd act upon a child.

The defendant is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 3 in Department F of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Pomona Branch.

Park is expected to be sentenced to three years in state prison and will have to register as a lifetime sex offender.

Deputy District Attorney Kelsey McKeever-Unger, who prosecuted the case, said at the time of the crime, Park was a chemistry teacher at Los Altos High School in Hacienda Heights.

Authorities were alerted by a school official that Park may have been having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl toward the latter part of 2014, the prosecutor said.

Park subsequently was charged on Feb. 25.

As authorities continued to investigate the case, a former student came forward and revealed Park had sexually abused her in 2011.

On April 16, the felony complaint was amended to include additional charges for the second victim.

The case was investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
