A Pacoima woman was sentenced today to two years in state prison for running over a 40-year-old man in a wheelchair who died from his injuries, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Deputy District Attorney Christopher Stogel said Tatiana Cacho, 25, pleaded no contest on Nov. 19 to one count of hit-and-run driving resulting in death in case PA082176.

Co-defendant Christian Salvador Olvera, 23, of North Hollywood was sentenced to 16 months in county jail. Olvera entered a no contest plea on Nov. 19 to one count of accessory after the fact.

The victim, Manuel De Jesús González, was crossing the street near Terra Bella Street and Cayuga Avenue in Pacoima the night of Sept. 26 when the crash happened, the prosecutor said.

Olvera was not in the car at the time of the collision but later helped Cacho go to a body shop in an attempt to hide the damage on the vehicle, the prosecutor added.

The case was investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department, Valley Traffic Division.
