February 6, 2013: Postal Worker Charged with Misdemeanor Cruelty to a Child

A postal worker who allegedly chased an 11-year-old girl into a park restroom and choked her after she laughed at him was charged today with cruelty to a child and assault on park property, the District Attorney’s Office announced.

Daniel Villasenor, 55 (dob 3-25-57), is scheduled to be arraigned around 2 p.m. in case 3EA 00812 at East Los Angeles Court, Department 2, said Deputy District Attorney Javier Perez, deputy in charge of the East L.A. office.

Villasenor allegedly became angry after two children taunted him at Bristow Park on Monday. He allegedly chased the girl, who ran into the women’s restroom, and began choking her inside a supply room adjacent to the restroom before two city workers told him to stop.

Prosecutors will ask bail be set at $15,000. If convicted, he faces up to one year in county jail.
