November 20, 2014: Pitchess Jail Teacher Charged with Sexual Activity with Inmate

A Pitchess Detention Center teacher pleaded not guilty today to having unlawful sexual contact with an inmate, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced. 

Lisa Nichole Leroy, 33, is facing one misdemeanor count each of sexual activity with a detainee in a detention facility and unlawful written communication with an inmate. 

Leroy is due back for a pretrial hearing on Dec. 11 in Department 2 of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Santa Clarita Branch. 

Case 4NW02322 was filed on Sept. 19. 

Leroy had sexual contact with the inmate on Oct. 2 in a jail classroom, prosecutors said. The defendant also exchanged letters with the inmate, prosecutors added. 

Leroy faces a possible sentence of a year in county jail if convicted as charged.  

The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
