A Palmdale couple have been charged with murder and other felony counts in connection with the death of a 22-month-old boy, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced today.

Deputy District Attorney Theodore Swanson said Brandon Jerel Williams (dob 11/25/89) and Rosie Lee Wilson (dob 10/6/93) face one count each of murder, assault on a child causing death and torture.

They are both due back in court Oct. 14 for arraignment in Department A01 of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Antelope Valley Branch.

Case MA064056 was originally filed on Aug. 26 and amended yesterday following the toddler’s death on Oct. 5.

Anthony lived with his mother and her boyfriend, Wilson and Williams, on 26th Street East. On Aug. 21, the toddler who had signs of prior abuse was severely beaten, the prosecutor said. He remained in critical condition until his death 41 days later, the prosecutor added.

Bail for both defendants has been set at more than $2 million.

If convicted as charged Williams and Wilson face maximum sentences of life in prison.

The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Palmdale Station.
