March 3, 2015: Murder Charges Filed for Chatsworth Street Race Crash

A 21-year-old man was charged today with murder for the death of two spectators killed when a car crashed during an illegal street race, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Henry Michael Gevorgyan (dob 3/19/93) faces two counts of murder and one count of engaging in a motor vehicle speed contest on a highway causing a concussion in case PA083096.

Arraignment is scheduled this afternoon in Department S of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, San Fernando Branch.

Eric Siguenza, 26, and Wilson Thomas Wong, 50, were killed and a third man was injured when the defendant's car spun out of control during an illegal street race in Chatsworth on Feb. 25, prosecutors said.

Bail is requested at more than $2 million. Gevorgyan faces a maximum possible sentence of 33 years to life in state prison if convicted as charged.

The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department, Valley Traffic Division.
