A man was sentenced today to 240 years to life in state prison for raping a German tourist in Hollywood two years ago, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Kenneth Mack (dob 12/23/88) was convicted earlier this year of two counts of forcible rape in concert. Co-defendant Otis Barway (dob 4/11/93) was found guilty of one count of forcible rape.

Deputy District Attorney Paul Thompson of the Sex Crimes Division prosecuted the case.

On Dec. 5, 2016, both men met the victim and lured her to an isolated rooftop.

Once there, Mack knocked her to the ground and the men raped her. Both men were identified through DNA evidence, the prosecutor said.

Jurors also convicted Mack of a felony count of assault with a deadly weapon and Barway of one count of misdemeanor assault in connection with an unrelated nonsexual attack on Nov. 30, 2016.

Barway was sentenced in July to nine years and six months in prison.

Mack additionally was convicted of second-degree robbery for an incident on Nov. 26, 2016. He also was convicted of rape and second-degree robbery for an assault in July 2016.

Case BA452571 was investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department.
