A Maywood man was sentenced today to 105 years to life in state prison for committing lewd acts with several girls, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Deputy District Attorney Heba Matta said Jose Olivarez Rodriguez, 59, was sentenced by Judge Patrick T. Meyers at the Los Angeles County Superior Court in Norwalk.

The defendant was convicted by a jury on Nov. 8, 2013 of 13 counts of lewd act upon a child.

Rodriguez was convicted of sexually abusing four girls. The victims, all under the age of 14, included family members and children that the defendant’s wife would watch at their home. The assaults occurred between 2000 and 2011, the prosecutor added.

The defendant is expected to return to court for a restitution hearing on April 24.
