A 68-year-old man was convicted yesterday of sexually molesting several young girls over five years, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Alfredo Aguilar (dob 4/16/47) of Huntington Park pleaded guilty on Monday to five felony counts in case VA135194: three counts of lewd act upon a child and two counts of forcible lewd act upon a child.

The defendant is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 26 in Department S of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Norwalk Branch. Aguilar is expected to be sentenced to 24 years in state prison.

Deputy District Attorney Amanda Luna, who prosecuted the case, said Aguilar sexually abused three underage girls at various times between 2007 and 2012.

In May 2014, one of the victims revealed to a counselor about the molestation, which led authorities to investigate the crimes. Charges subsequently were filed on May 15, 2014.

The case was investigated by the Huntington Park Police Department.
