A 52-year-old Los Angeles man was charged today with vandalizing Donald Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

James Lambert Otis (dob 12/27/63) faces one felony count of vandalism over $400 damage in case BA451849.

Otis is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow in Department 30 of the Foltz Criminal Justice Center.

The defendant is accused of using a pick axe and a sledgehammer to smash the star on Oct. 26, prosecutors said. Otis then allegedly removed a brass medallion from the middle of the star, prosecutors added.

If convicted as charged, Otis could face a possible maximum sentence of three years in jail. Bail is recommended at $20,000.

The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department, Hollywood Station.
