A Long Beach man has been charged with killing a pedestrian with his vehicle following an altercation, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Sokhorn Hor (dob 5/12/89) faces one count of murder in case NA110221.

Hor pleaded not guilty to the charge yesterday and is scheduled back on Sept. 18 in Department S01 of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Long Beach Branch.

On Sept. 8, the defendant allegedly ran over victim Victor S. Herrera, 40, near Market Street and Orange Avenue and then fled the scene, prosecutors said.

If convicted as charged, Hor faces a possible maximum sentence of 25 years to life in state prison. Bail is set at $2 million.

The case remains under investigation by the Long Beach Police Department.
