Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón announced a man was charged today with setting a fire at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Topanga Station on Sunday.

“Everyone should feel safe in their workplace and that includes police officers,” District Attorney Gascón said. “We will not tolerate brazen acts of violence directed at anyone.”

Jonathon Rosin (dob 7/13/96) of Canoga Park faces one felony count each of use of destructive device and explosive to injure/destroy and arson of an inhabited structure or property.

Rosin pleaded not guilty today in case LA094786 and is scheduled to return for a preliminary hearing on June 22 in Department 122 of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Van Nuys Branch.

On May 9, Rosin is charged with throwing a Molotov cocktail through the police station’s window. No one was injured in the attack, prosecutors said.

The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department.
