A Lancaster man was sentenced today to six years in state prison after he pointed a replica gun at his 83-year-old mother during a standoff with sheriff’s deputies, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Kelly Alton Baker, 57, was sentenced by Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Kathleen Blanchard. Earlier this month, Baker pleaded no contest to one felony count of elder or dependent adult abuse and one misdemeanor count of brandishing a replica gun in case MA066097.

Prosecutors said Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies responded on May 24 to a 911 call from a home in the 1100 block of Avenue H-7. When they arrived, they were confronted by Baker who pointed a replica gun at officers and then at his mother.

The case was investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Lancaster Station.
