A 36-year-old man was sentenced yesterday to 15 years to life in state prison for sexually abusing a young girl, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

On Monday, Thomas Burke Pulver (dob 6/26/78) of La Mirada pleaded no contest to a felony count of oral copulation or sexual penetration with child ten years old or younger in case VA136484.

In addition to the prison sentence, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Peter Espinoza also ordered the defendant to register as a sex offender for life.

Deputy District Attorney Troy Davis, who prosecuted the case, said Pulver continually sexually assaulted a female child between 2011 and 2014.

In August 2014, authorities were alerted that Pulver was having inappropriate contact with the child victim. After an investigation, the defendant was arrested and charged in connection with the sex abuse.

The case was investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
